Tom Thorfinnson

 

 

Tom Thorfinnson currently is employed as the Chief Strategy Officer for Rotary International. He is and has been an active Rotarian and has served Rotary in a number of volunteer capacities, including serving as President of the Hopkins MN Rotary Club in 1992-93.   Over the last 15 years Tom has been actively involved in both raising money and helping develop projects and Rotary Foundation grant activity in the area of water and sanitation.  

 

As a Rotarian, Tom served as a member of the Rotary International Board of Directors from 2009-2011 and served as Rotary’s Vice-President in 2010-11.  

 

In 2015 Tom was selected to serve as a Trustee of The Rotary Foundation and in 2016 was selected to serve as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Rotary Foundation.  

 

In October of 2016 Tom resigned from the Trustees to take on the Chief Strategy Officer position. Previously Tom was employed for over 30 years in the private practice of corporate law in the greater Twin City area of Minneapolis and St. Paul MN.  Tom combines his over 30 years of corporate law and corporate governance practice with his extensive volunteer experience to bring a fresh volunteer perspective to the position as Chief Strategy Officer for Rotary.
