Dick was the third generation to join the Worcester, MA Rotary in 1984, following his grandfather Preston Hall and sponsored by his father PDG 7910 Ed Hall.  He then moved to the Lewiston Auburn ME Rotary in 1990 and then the Portland ME Rotary Club in 1997.
 
In Worcester he organized Worcester’s World's Largest Yard Sale, in Auburn-Lewiston co-chaired the Rodeo, and co-chaired Portland’s third Winterfest event. With his wife, he traveled to Haiti for a solar powered irrigation project, and Honduras for clean drinking water project.  With daughter Katharine, he went to the Dominican Republic for a clean water, hearing aid, and prosthetic hand project.  As Portland President, 2006-07, the club sponsored Brian Sandberg as a Rotary Peace Scholar.
2001- created first 7780 website. 2002-03, webmaster, club website mentor.  2010-11, 7780 Webmaster.  2010-14, Asst. Governor.  2012-13, represented 7780 RI Young Professionals Campaign.   2011-present- 7780 Club Visioning team, visioning facilitator, 2015-18 7780 Vision chair.  2018-19 chair of 7780 Rotary Youth exchange. 2016 led and facilitated visioning of District 7780. And assisted with development of the District 7780 2017 Strategic plan.  Dick is a RI Benefactor and Paul Harris Society member.
Dick is University of Maine and Boston University graduate, and a professional engineer in multiple states.  His work includes wind farms, solar projects, utility substation and electric transmission projects.
 
Dick has been married 25 years to Andrea, and he has two children and one grandchild.  Dick and Andy split their time between their home in Portland and their camp on Rangeley Lake.
